Being obese puts unnecessary strain on the heart, making the heart pump faster because of the increased amount of body fat. As a result this can cause high blood pressure. Likewise it has been proven that being obese greatly increases your chances of getting type 2 diabetes. It is also a contributing factor to some people getting cancer. Why would anyone let themselves get like that? Obesity can cause diseases but is not a disease itself. It can harm the body and stop it from properly working, like a disease, but it can be cured unlike some diseases. Anyone who is obese can return to a healthy lifestyle, with enough determination, so why are people overweight? Accordingly, one of the worst penalties obesity causes are physical restrictions. Even the simplest things such as taking a shower can be made difficult. However it can also prevent movement on the inside of the body. As the excess fat accumulates, it puts pressure on the major organs and cause difficulties with things that most people don’t usually have problems with, such as breathing. Out of all the diseases and problems in the world, obesity, the easiest to cure problem, was declared a worldwide epidemic by WHO in 2011. A global epidemic? Such an easy problem to solve in comparison to diseases such as HIV. Earlier it was seen as a disease for richer countries, but has been recognised globally with at least 14% of every countries population being overweight. There is a need to make the public aware about this increasing problem, outdoor sports and activities should be encouraged by both schools and parents to tackle the rising cases of childhood obesity. In rare cases, obesity can be caused by rare medical conditions such as crushing’s syndrome which causes the over production of certain steroid hormones. Weight gain can also be caused by certain medicines such as anti-depressants, and can be side effects from taking the combined birth control pill and quitting smoking.

Your pick of this week's news week 7 - Assignment Example that this decline has been experienced due increase in use of contraceptives as well as the recession being experienced by United States and the changes in rules and regulations regarding abortions. The main idea of the article is that the rate of abortion has and this decline has taken place due to use of contraceptives and recession. The author states that the number of abortions during 2011 stood at 1.1 million as compared to the period of 2008 when the number of abortions were 1.21. The article even states that the number of abortion has even declined in comparison to the rate at which they were occurring during 1981 when the rate was 29.3%. The article suggests that this decline is caused due to contraceptives and recession and laws have had little impact as laws were enacted after 2011. The author has satisfied the requirement of providing facts regarding the decline, but has failed to provide details regarding why the decline has stated and has simply made assumptions or highlighted suggestions provided by the research. The report has not focused on the side that is in favor of abortion or is in favor of relaxed laws for abortion. To a certain extend the report is biased as the report has used one side of the view and ignored the other side. the article is a hard news story as it focuses on what researches have stated but it lacks information on why the decline in abortion has taken place as no statistics are used in that context. The article is quite informative but requires more in-depth details about different reasons of decline in abortion and the correlation between rate abortion and different factors that contribute to its decline.
